Hindu puja – maha mrityunjaya puja|homan|mantra

Dedicated to Lord Shiva to avoid untimely death The Mrityunjaya Homa is performed to achieve Jaya or Victory over Mritya or death. The great mantra is dedicated to lord shiva as mrityunjaya is found in the Rig veda. It is called maha mrityunjaya mantra the death conquering mantra. Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being and is considered to be the destroyer of evil and sorrow. Shiva is 'Tri Netra', and is 'Neela Kantha'. Bhagwan Shiva is the Lord of mercy and compassion. He protects devotees from evil forces. Lord Shiva is the third member of the Hindu Trinity
Mahamrityunjaya mantra anushthana (japa) is performed when someone is running markesh, a planetary period invested with powers to inflict physical harm, or when someone’s health is causing serious problems or when some major operation is to be performed.
The mantra is a powerful mantra can be recited by your self but the pronunciation should be good or else get them recited by a qualified pundit in the prescribed number and vidhi.

ॐ त्रियम्बकं यजामहे, सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनं
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मोक्षिय मामृतात्
OM triyambakam yajāmahe sugandhim pushTivardhanam,
urvārukamiva bandhanān mrrityormokshiya māmrritāt.
